Maria is a curriculum writer and health educator whose experience is predominantly within the field of gender-based violence prevention in Cincinnati, Ohio. During her tenure in the field, she has focused on developing and leading primary prevention programs for K-12 students, colleges and universities, alcohol-serving establishments, and corporations. As the Prevention Manager at Women Helping Women, she created and expanded two innovative programs, WorkStrong® and the It’s On Us Bar Initiative, both of which center on empowering workforces as upstanders to confront interpersonal violence. She places incredible value on collaboration, equity, and empowerment in her work. Maria holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Religion from Butler University and a Master of Science in Health Promotion and Education from the University of Cincinnati.
